Our Marketing Story
Our founders began Portland Maine Marketing after discovering what SEO could do for them. They, like many of us, were desperate to find a way out of the nine to five grind, or at least have it be fulfilling - knowing that life is about living, not working. For them, SEO was the answer and they immediately wanted to pass that on. As soon as they learned about SEO, they realized that it could get them leads with less work, while doing the same for others. It was the perfect solution, and our SEO company was born.
And it really is these values and perks of doing SEO for a living that have kept us all loving what we do. SEO works. It makes sense. It has the potential to help people and transform their lives. Here we all were, searching for some way to just have enough to get by, and we stumbled on the one thing that can get us and our clients leads without bending over backwards for them. It gives us the ability to partner with companies we believe in, and help them live the vision they had for their companies when they started them.
For us, SEO is more than just a bunch of ranking factors.
For us, SEO is freedom.
Why We Do What We Do
Our founding ideals are embodied by SEO. One of the things we despise most about the idea of being a business owner, particularly a small and local one, is the fact that the vision almost never seems to live up to the reality. When we wanted to start our own company, we tuned in to the experience of other business owners, and found that nearly all of them were so consumed with finding leads, especially in the context of a pandemic, that they weren’t even able to enjoy what they did anymore. While being a business owner was supposed to be freeing, it seemed to be more of a gilded cage. We didn’t want this for ourselves, but also hated seeing others so trapped.
When we found SEO, and saw that because by its very nature it just works, we knew it was the field for us. By using SEO strategies on our own sites and those of our clients, we are able to break the cycle of endless lead searching.
